Doing a little round baling

My paddocks have gotten ahead of the cows and I decided it getting dryer I would bale a couple of them. I will use poly wire to let the cows eat the bales a few at a time. The 200 is a match for the AC roto baler. Works like a charm. Baled about 600 of little round bales. I had to add a 5 gallon bucket for a twine box because I couldn't find binder twine. I had to use 16000 round baler twine and it worked real good. This is something you don't see anymore so I thought I would share it with you.

Wow! I haven"t seen a Roto Baler in actual use for over 40 years. Allis Chalmers was a little ahead of their time with it. Thanks for posting these pics. Don

I see roto-balers in many fence rows around here but the scrappers are getting them left and right now. It's probably been 10 years since I saw one in use. thanks for the reminder.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing . I have one too .Keep telling myself,I am going to get that baler out next year , and run a few hundred through it. But it just don't happen, to darn busy, maybe next year.Bruce

A-C made two mistakes in my opinion that really hurt the company in the late 60s, early 70s. One was they declined to upsize the rotobaler concept. Missed on being the first big round baler in the business. Second was they built a no-till drill alongside the development of the no-till corn planter but decided there would be insufficient demand for a no-till drill so didn't pursue it after the prototype.

When I was a kid, I used to go with my dad to the cattle auction in Greenbrier County, WV. There was a field along the way where we would see these bales. What years did AC make these bailers?
