Case 511B hard starting

Case 511B with Zenith carb & Autolite distributor. Starts & runs great when cold but difficult to start if at all when hot. If it does start it runs fine. Did a complete tune-up one year ago, coil, points, condenser, rotor, cap and D16 plugs. Spark plug wires good - metal conductor. Disassembled carb, thoroughly cleaned and found virtually no dirt inside. At a loss if it is electrical and/or fuel due to the heat this summer. Have been thinking about the intake/exhaust manifolds as a possible problem.

modern bs gas,, ifyou work it hard like I have on a 8ft disc mower , you will boil the gas ,,wrap the gas line in foil and put a heat baffle between tank and motor ,///the 159 motor IMHO is marginal in best conditions ,, I have one , it fights like siisified scm,,. to make both these tractors run like a DC CASE , I suggest autolite plugs , solid copper plug wires , a new hot coil , and electronic ignition,.

Thank you for the info. I have worked on numerous old tractors but never a Case. By your suggestions it can be a combination of both electrical and gas. I have my work "cut out for me". Again, thank you.

mike , my observation of gasser deers are havin the worst trouble , seems that ford and ihc are immune to the modern fuel problems /// you should be able to start when warmed up ..true , I have stalled a gasser before in aload , and it required a half hour to cool before it started ,, ,,one thing I have always wanted to do is chek the valves for correct setting ,, this should be done hot
