anyone here run a grain cart on a 12,13,or 1570 ? i'm short one tractor this fall, so I was going to get the Spirit of 76 out and use it. dad says it won't work, it will shear the safety bolts on the cart pto all the time when you depress inching pedal at higher rpm under load. I think it work all right. wanted some input, Thanks

The early 12+13' might shear a bolt every now and then. Later ones and all 1570's with the PTO shaft driven from the flywheel do not have that trouble. I know of several being used on carts and they work great with no problems at all. Rod.

never used the pto on the Spirit other than checking HP on dyno (back in the old pulling days, used to win a lot too, thats another story)

There is a farmer down here that uses his spirit of 76 on a Killbros I think about 600 or 650 bushel cart. Actually after putting on gas with it the past few years it was went to the cart for wheat and doesn't leave until after fall. I am sure it probably doesn't get much over 3/4 throttle though while unloading.

We have used a late 1370 on a JD grain cart for 3 years with no problems. Upgraded to a Brent 970 this year and MX 180 so won't be using the 13.
