Hey all, great forum here. I'm new to this site and have a 1370 question for the pros, I have recently acquired a '76 model 1370. It seems to have a hydraulic issue where sometimes I have hydraulics and sometimes nothing. When it is working, all pressures check ok, so I'm ruling out pumps, I am leaning toward a problem with the bevel gear sets that drive the pumps. Before we split it, I am looking for info from the case pro's as to I'd there is a common failure in this area, any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks from ohio

Generally the angle drives are not intermittent, I have never seen one work then not then come back. Do you lose all hydraulics including steering when it fails or just remote, drive functions?

Thanks for the reply, we loose all hydraulic functions, steer,
brake , trams, remotes. After looking at the schematic, may
pull the charging pump ( if I'm correct the one on the bottom)
out tomorrow) and look for clogged screen

I too have a 1370 Case and the same thing happened to me; it was a clogged screen.

In my situation the problem started gradually. I had changed oil to something other than Hytran and the oil dissolved the glue that held the fiber disc’s on the metal plates for the power-shift, brakes and PTO clutch.

P>S> In the end I have too pull the rear end cover plate and clean the fiber gunk out of the rear end.
