Question on 3Pt housing

Hi,
I"m looking at buying a 1030 , however the 3 pt is not working. Assuming the worst it could be the upper housing is broken or cracked. The last time it worked was before he got stuck in a ditch. So the question is how much would an upper housing cost and are they available .
Appreciate all the help

Hi Woodenoar, did you check the sensor rod and shaft underneath the transmission, in front of the drawbar. It may have been strained or twisted past its limits.-Kav

Its the rockshft housing. You could pressure test the cylinder with air to determine if its good or if the problem is elsewhere

do the remotes work? do you have enough fluid in the trans? most of the time the 3pt not working isn't because the housing is broken. getting stuck in a ditch could easily have mangled the Draft-O-Matic linkage. can you manually lift the arms?

I'm having the same issue with a 1175 case tractor. The 3pt is not working, it worked for a day and the quit when I first bought it. Just getting around to looking at it but no luck as of yet. I can lift the 3pt arms manually - any other ideas. Is there a sensor rod/shaft on the 1175 as well?

Yes I can manually lift the arms . Very easy with no resistance. He had a 1000lbs or so on the back , that's why I'm concerned. Hydraulic is full and clean , pump was replaced not long ago.
Thanks again, loopking forward to owning another case , used to have sn 830 casomatic and loved it

on my 1030 the arms raise fairly easy too as they do not have down pressure. I've had several thousand pounds on mine without problem. do you have a service manual? Under the platform is the Draft-O-Matic valve and a box containing the linkage for it. If something in that box or the DOM spring is broken it might not work. I can copy and email the pages if need be.

Sounds much like the story they told me when i bought tge 830. The part was about 250 plus then i bought a bunch of seals and orings. If its not the rockshaft housing it should be an inexpensive fix. If it is however it will take a lot of effort and maybe $500 in parts. Once you get your hands on it the diagnosis will be a lot easier. All we can do is guess for now.

Have you checked the pto controle cable as I sugested in reply to your earlier post? Yes there is a senceing rod, under your 1175. It workes just the same as the 30 series, however the operators platform was isomounted on the 70 series, and cables were used rather than fixed link controles.

Could be the 3pt valve sticking. Had my 730 s non working 3pt. But remotes worked fine. Swapped out the valve and works fine.

Thanks for all the input,
Rockshaft body is not that much,
Yes the remotes do work
Oil is a little frothy but wouldn't say foamy
Going to check the linkage now, didn't know about that one
Thanks again

Look down past the shift lever. You will see s chrome plated shaft. Does it move when 3pt lever is moved to raise ? If not try prying it to the rear of the tractor. This is the spool for the 3 pt valve. More then likely its plugged up and needs serviced.
