1170 Case pto keeps spinning

Looking at a Case 1170 & pto keeps spinning. Is this a fairly easy fix or a major job? This tractor has the 8 speed transmission I like. Any pros & cons about this tractor is appreciated much. Thanks

There are several causes of this problem. One of the fixes cost almost nothing, but the most common damaged plates and brake unit might run $750-1000 depending on shop rates and other items. Figure high and hope its not, Rod.

Mine spins when cold. However, some load is applied, it will break the clutches loose, no issue. I recommend letting it run for 5-10min, then use a 2x4 and try to stop it (carefully!)

IIRC, they use a wet multiplate clutch which can drag a bit when cold.
