Dale in wa asked me for advice on fixing this. He's in a hurry to get his hay done. I told him to see if anyone has one they would sell and ship because welding it good enough will be tough. If no one has one I'll talk him through welding it, but I'm hoping for a replacement. e-mail me and I'll get him the info if he doesn't post here.

Dad use to have the arm with the steering arm ball on it lengthened to make them steer a little easier. Wonder if the extra stress causes the arm to break off the spindle.

One of mine broke like that because the taper did not fit tight and it moved a little. I ground it out to get full penetration and welded it because I did not have time to wait for a replacement. That was 6 years ago and it is holding fine. It has a front end loader on it and gets lots of abuse. I ground the taper to fit better and it seems to stay tight. It's not like you have anything to loose trying.
