question on 730 diesel engine

Seller has a 730 diesel less than 5000hrs? says there is small amount of white smoke from engine while in going in barn yard.Is there a real issue with this?It is a68 model good rubber good original paint asking $5000.Fair price or not?

More then I would pay. I bought a really good 830, that needed PTO work, but had all the parts, diesel COM, 3 point, and I think its a 67 model. I gave $2500.

I bought a very nice 730 all good tin near new tires, runs great from a dealer $2500. That was about 10 yrs ago

Somewhat depends on where the "white smoke" is coming from. Is it blowby, or is it possibly exhaust from a cracked head? $5000 should get you a 730 in pristine condition, with no known issues. Don

As others have said, way over priced. The $2500 price is more in line, especially with the engine issue you described.

White smoke often means antifreeze in the combustion chamber. I"d stay away from this one.
