question on injector lines

I'm restoring a 400 diesel. There's 2 sets of plates to hold the injector lines, and some sort of a black paper. It's all oil soaked and in poor shape. What is a good replacement for this? Gasket paper? Thin rubber?

A chunk of old inner tube.

The originals were cork. I used some thin cork gasket material for mine. Check that the lines are lined up properly. One of mine was sprung and darn near worn through from rubbing on the bolts that hold the plates together.
