flywheel for 188 diesel

the 530 Diesel motor arrived from Connecticut yesterday ,, BUT it has a automatic flywheel and ringgear ,,, GONNA bolt the motor to bell housing of a 470 gasser , ,, but I do not have the correct flywheel and clutch pressure plate ,, I know of a 311,511 gasser flywheel and the original gasser 470 flywheel is still on the motor, all will have to be bought , or traded , depending on what each of us wants ,, BUT I Doubt If that will work ,,..? is it LEGAL to swap gasser and disel flywheels ?because of balancing and everthing to be in harmony ? ,, been searching archives ,, but there are 2200 posts ,, and some deal with hay balers ..

I don't know why you need a gasket with a dry clutch setup?
I don't think there would be any balance issues in that swap, if everything fits together as it was in the 470 gasser I'd just put it together unless there is something I'm missing. We are putting the late 3 bolt gear reduction starters on the high compression pulling engines we build so I don't think there is a ring gear mismatch. If you have all the 470 stuff, I'd see how it goes together. To my knowledge there is no difference in the rear dimensions between the gas and diesel.
