Its KING Pins

A larger pic. I used to work in a dark dirt floor shed. This is a whole lot better.

Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still work on a dirt floor. A friend wired and installed lights 3 years ago. That sure helped . I wished I had a nice concrete floor to work on,Kenny.

to answer your question yes the caps unscrew. there is also a nut that pulls a wedge pin through the axle to lock the king pin in, that also needs to come out. my front end is tight up there but needs new pins and bushings for the pivots.

StuckRusty, Looks like that LA has found a really good home. I have two that I have fixed up. Fresh painted they are really beautiful tractors. Be sure to put a new brake lining on. If you have questions I have a lot of answers about restoring the LA. Love those LAs. Great tractors.---Derrol in Texas---

Yeah Derrol I do have a question. My local parts store, good with getting parts for old tractors, can't get the front bearing seals. Do you have a part# or source?

I have to thank my wife for the shop and her hard work. She put 11 gallons of white paint on the walls and tan epoxy on the floor. The shop is bright and with skylight panels. No lights are turned in this picture.

Sorry for such a late reply, I have been really busy and away from the site for two months. I have not had to replace those seals on my tractors yet, so I don"t have a part number.
