I'm going over my 281 rake and notice that the drive shaft is very sloppy. I called CNH and they said the u-joint part number T 23626 is no longer available and not in any obsolete Parts Warehouses. Before I go out and make a complete new drive line for it is there any other solutions?

Unless it's very unique Napa can get u-joints. I
would take it out and take it in to them to see what
they can do.

Also a Spicer driveline catalog will have dimension for many different size U-joints. Post the dimension and we can look

I replaced mine a couple of years ago. They ARE special (of course). They have no needles, just steel yoke on steel shaft. I got origonal ones from John Saeli in NY, even took him a while. I feel if I did this again, I'd make a shaft using a readily available joint with needle bearing surfaces. As an aside, the yokes are so thin they were a bearcat to reassemble. They flexed way to much and bound the bearing cups. On the upside It's a dandy rake and I use it behind my SC to combine windrows. The 400 cuts it and my 1070 bales it........

Had same type--no needles- on foremans post hole auger. Took it to a HD truck shop, with a GOOD parts dept & they matched it up, was even on the shelf.

Dimensions of these u-joints are correct replacement for my Case 281 rake: Moog 853 and GMB 250-0264
