took the "man lift" basket off the "DC" today and put on the hay head to stack some small squares we have over 600 to bring in and stack and this makes the loading a whole lot easier, this should make the OSHA police feel better with the hay head on, to give a idea how high I can set bales the pic with the trailer the Duncan is just over half way up

Very interesting ... How many bales do you pick up at one time ?? Does the rear -end get light >> or do you have a counter weight ..
Like you said .. makes loading easier and fun for the driver of the Dc ..

Mark 10-12 bales is a average load but if the bales line up just right I can get 15-17 on the bales are averaging 70 lbs plus the hay head that is heavy I have not had any wheels come up but I will be adding several more sets of wheel weights as I had the calcium chloride taken out of the rears last year, this is the only way I do not mind handling small squares

It looks like the DC could also use some paint. LOL
By the way, I found 2 more late model combines this afternoon but I could not tell what size they are.

yes she is in her work cloths Tom, I do not have the room to put her inside so she will stay this way at least for now,, will call you soon to chat combines thanks Tom

the Duncan design does seem to distribute the weight better than most loaders so far I have had zero troubles and the front axle is in very good shape

I hope ya put the "Basket of Death" back on soon, I miss the light headed feeling I get every time I see it.

I love IT!! I should have had you come help load my bales. I had the DC tied onto the double bar Kosch mower, the 800 on the 16 wheel H&S rake, and the 830 was on the 271 New Holland baler. I just needed your DC to finish things out.

Good to see the ole girl earning her keep. Did you purchase the DC with the loader installed or is it something that ya added later? Rod.

Wow that loader is great. I bet it was high tech in it's day. You have unique hay equipment very interesting. We have so much rain most fields are just getting cut .or rained on. I have 12 acres of grass hay. Still not cut. I guess I have to let a farmer have it for cows.or mow it down thanks for posting hay pics. John

it was sold new to the PO with the loader and a Case Centennial 3 bottom plow I bought the whole set, plow and tractor have had very little use I also got the original ops manuals for the tractor and plow as well

As always Tom great pic's from one of my new favorite states. I know in the past I called the Ducan the erector set I'am sorry I did that I meant no dispect. I still would like a ride up on the ole girl. Sure beats walking alone a wagon and hoist'en bales on to a wagon and then stacking them!!! I'am sure you have told us but I forgot what yr. did they build that "high tech" wagon loader?? Hey Jon it would be worth the price of gas to drive ta wy. just ta see you "ride" the ducan!!! hee hee. As fur OSHA they got better things ta do then chase around folks that got a Ducan just my 11 cents worth. Thanks again Tom great stuff.

That contraption sure seems to be very handy. I have to strap myself to the chair when you show pictures of it with the basket on. LOL I know I wouldn't make the ride to the top alive. LOL

Gregg I have never taken any thing you said a disrespectful at all the police reference was to the one who had such a problem with the man lift before lol as to the year the loader was sold new with the tractor in 1948 thanks for the comments have a great day

Me too John. My 52 DC had a loader on it for years and shows evidence of having broke in two. The casting below the radiator looked like it can from a different tractor and only cleared the lower pulley by 1/8 inch. No way to change the fan belt without removing this casting. Think it may have come from a CC? Changed it out for one from a DC and discovered the flange on the front of the engine block was broke out and missing around one hole.
