Case 1070 Fuel issue.Help

Hi guys I have this issue

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ykqv0VOgeg&list=LLPtawFSyB46dnxmMcRfXUKQ&feature=mh_lolz

It seems to do it only when I want it to stay at a certain rpm.It revs up without a hiccup.I does this jerking thing at low and high rpms.I have changed fuel filters already.

I also have very hard steering on this tractor I have oil - cracked the joins.I have put a steering motor from a 970 in,mine was pissing oil out everywhere from the fire.I have good transmission oil pressure and all gears and the front end loader works fine

I bought the tractor burned and I am trying to get her going again.

Your governor is out of adjustment. On the rear of the pump you will see two adjustment screws one above the other right above the plate with 4 screws in it. Take the caps off and adjust one or both in just a bit til it quits jumping. Doesn't take much, start with 1/4 turn till you see what it's doing.

Just an update, got it to run alot better not 100% but almost, still does that jerky thing a little dit when it goes from engine braking downhill to having to work on level road..

Got powersteering sorted out.It was the inline valve before the steering motor.

I was so happy with the old girl , I washed her LOL

How many hours does the pump have? High hours use may have the plunger control sleeves worn badly so equal delivery between cylinders cannot be held, cam bearing wear causing end float will cause governor trouble too. If low hours these should be OK. There is a sensitivety adjustment inside governor cover that can be adjusted also. Tractors usually set 8-10%, combines 5-7%, gensets 3%. If someone set it too close on regulation it will surge, and resetting low idle and bumper spring may not remove it completely.

I was wondering after my last post if the heat from the fire could have damaged the gov. spring and would that cause this too?

Fire may have caused bumper spring damage, depending on how hot it became. Main governor spring in Bosch RSV governor is very heavy, aluminum cover would melt first. At least that's what I have seen in the past, with combine pumps anyway that were torched.

The fire was mainly on right hand side where block heater is, thats what caused it I was told. The previous owner told me it ran fine he had it for 3 years and he thinks it had 6800 hours before the fire.
There is no signs of heat at the pump - paint is still on and no coloration.

Where can I find how to do the sensitivity adjustment?

Is there a base line setting to start from when adjusting the 2 governor screws?
