I one time let my wife rake, she asked what gear i said 2nd high at idle.
I dont think she heard the idle part. She went full throttle pulling the poor old rake. i got her stopped about a 1/4 mile down the field.
The rake looked like a fan going through the field.
That is funny -LOL. My wife is the exact opposite. She has a tendency to go too sloooowwww. In fairness she has health issues and she refuses to bounce herself to pieces no matter what.
To the OP: Another thing to keep in mind is that the bigger tractor will likely burn a bit more fuel but they also ride so much better. I often find myself using one of my ole junkers with big tires over my fuel sipper with little wheels. I simply ain't as young as I once was and a smooth ride is more appreciated than choosing a rougher ride and a mere few bucks in fuel savings.
