DC drive chains

So I am in the process of scrapping out a DC and wanted to pull the drive chains out cause I might need them in my D. Searched the archives, but I didn't see anywhere where it talked about a master link that I could pop and pull the whole chain out. Anybody have any insight? I already have the shifter cover off and can see the chains.

I think you should take the rear cover off. That will make it much easier to get at the chains. There is a master link with split pins in it. These MUST be replaced with special case hardened split pins. Ordinary pins will wear and the chains will end up breaking gears etc in the transmission.
