930 case rocker arms oil

Put back a 930 case tractor and I"m wondering how much oil should be on top of the rocker arms? I seem to be short. I have 40 lbs oil pressure and oil is getting to the rocker shaft but does not seem to be enough? The grooves in the rockers are barely full. When I pull the feed line to the rocker shaft oil comes squirting out when running. All ports are open and clear of debris. Is the cam lubricated by the oil running back down the pushrods? Greatly appreciate any advice. Its the same on each head...very little flow...

The Rocker Arm has oil holes drilled in it. These holes should be on the opposite side of the valves. I discovered that our 730 was assembled wrong fron the factory.

You maybe ok on both of my 930's the oil does not sling or squirt.

Check the holes in the rockers like john said.

If the holes are right and your getting oil you should be fine

All the holes are open in the 3 rockershafts. I replaced the o-rings on the feed lines where they enter the head. I get oil dripping out the ends on the rockershaft but still very little on top of the rocker arms in the grooves. Maybe thats all right for lube. Just looking for advice from someone who has some experience with the 930 motor.

Last summer, I replaced the valve seals in our Case 841. While the rocker arm covers were off, I started the engine to watch the oil flow in the rocker arm area. Much to my surprise there was just a small amount of oil. I only ran it at low speed. The push rods and valve stems were lightly coated. It surprised me since the return holes in the head are huge.
The tractor has about 2600 hours on the hour meter. When the valve stem were examined during the seal replacement process, there was no measurable wear. I concluded that there was enough oil volume.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

The first time I over-hauled an engine on a 930 Diesel I thought i did something wrong.

very little oil at the rockers.

All that is needed is enough oil for lube.

If you have 40PSI and oil going to the rockers you should be fine.

The oil in the top groove is for lube of the push rods.

A drop at a time is enough for lube.

Its hard to wrench a problem from behind a screen but it sounds like your ok
