seems like my 800 is loosing hydro fluid into the tranny ,,is that possible ???was runnin at Dad s hillside farm pullinthe drill up and down hills ...the pump pressure became erratic and it was good for awhile ,after, added fluid,,when I would loose pressureif I simply pointed the nose up a steep hill she would pik riteup and pull with moderate pressure ,,.going downhill I would loose all pressure ..,,I disconnected the cooling line before clutch spool and pumped about a gallon of fluid .. then drained about a quart from the drain plug ,, Where in the world did all the oil Go ???,,.Surely did not leak it ,,my 800 hasa few leaks but nuthin that serious...Gonna pull filter tomorrow to check condition ..btw ,,the 8 speed tranny is over full ..

Jim,
your old 800 is showing signs of "anular disfunction" .In other words, it sounds like the seal and bushing, on the center shaft traveling through the COM, which drives the PTO and hyd pump, has become worn. From now on just use the old guy on the level and it will be OK. HeHe. All kinds of things happen to us when we get old!!!!, tractors also.

that is probably what it is Lorren..,Trouble is ,if I had level Ground to Farm the mega -farmerHAWGGS would try to rent it away from me ,,,,My 800 has got to kope with hills...Is That a rubber plastic seal the re ???,,there was 5 gallon of extra oil in tranny ,,I poured that exceess in torque convertor,,,had excellent pressure , rite off ,, shifted into gear like normal in spite of the thiker oil...,GOnna pik up some Lucas hub sealer ,mite help the seal ???,,i hooked up to fertilizer buggy,, with 3 ton ,
that fine lady pulled like a champ , went across the terraceto head up the hillside and BROK THE DRAWBR in Half where roller bolt bracket fastens... Gonna BORROW the drawbar off the gasser 730 ...that is the Beauty of having duplicate equipment ,, not only are you accustomed to Quirks,, but lotz of parts are interchangeable

If anything will help, it will be a Lucas product. I believe the true fix involves splitting the tractor and digging into the tranny.
