Case VAO 5166037

Just wondering if anyone has any pictures they can post of what a finished VAO looks like and also is there anyone or anyway to get build cards or info on when and where this tractor was first sold, shipped to etc.? Looking forwardd to hearing from you and thanks in advance. Is the O for orchard? I am told this is a 47 model.

Hi Sammy,

Yes the "O" is for Orchard.
I just picked up a 1956 VAO myself.
I would love to see a picture of yours.
Can you post one up?

Thanks Gavin.

Not mine yet, belongs to a family member on west coast and they do not want to scrap it, and it has no orchard tin work, but trying to find out all I can and if it is worth getting it shipped to midwest. My great uncle farmed with it but he has been gone since 1972 and his family has passed it around since that time. Currently does not run and they believe stuck.

It sounds like the cost of trailer and gas, not including your time, will be high. It would have to be for love rather than seeing a "value" in restoration and sale. That's my guess.
But restoration of something can be so much fun and a Case tractor isn't a bad thing to do up. The fun and satisfaction should be worth it as it isn't going to blow the average budget.
If you have some use for it, that would be handy. But even if it is a trophy for the shed or yard art, they look great!

Get a family member to send you a pic.

Sam, When I inquired about the build card for my 1950 VAC, Rich T. told me the VA series cards had all been dicarded. Maybe your years are still available. Check with Rich gobble
