53-54 SC DC voltage regulators

Hello. I have a 54 SC and a 53 DC that both need new voltage regulators. The one I need, Auto Lite VRR 4104 seems to be kind of hard to get, and I was wondering if anyone had a cross reference to a more common regulator or does anybody have NOS regulators for sale. Also, is it an A circuit or B circuit system, and how many amps are the generators rated for? Thanks for any and all help, John.

I just checked Brillmans, no luck. I was hoping someone had an interchange chart to see if another brand of regulator would be a direct replacement. Thanks, John.

I"m not sure if they do but look at granger they try Stiners tractor, then I would try a company called A&i products.

Maybe this will help. Tom

Interesting fuse holder on the side of that regulator. And two of the connections underneath the regulator.

Not to be a smart*** but that's the way they were made. I have an old garage that is getting cleaned out, there are two or three old ones that I assume are dead. Mount with the same fuse holder and connections. Tom

I thought it is interesting and neat, the only 6 volt stuff I ever messed with were Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge, with divorced regulators, growing up. All my M/Ms are 12 volt or missing generator. and my 580CK has a one wire Alt. hung on the side of it and the tach cable dangeling. My 2-53 Jimmy Diesel powered Deere crawlers also are 12 volt divorced regulator.
