Day off and Messing Around

I decided to replace the belt pulley on the 49 SC after I damaged the ends pulling it off when I replaced the seal. I wish I had drilled out those rivets to begin with. It would have been a lot easier pulling off that stubborn pulley flange minus the pulley.

Looks like that was a tuf job .. all my letter series tractors had leaks like this ,,, I always try lucas hub seal 1st ... you can get it at napa ,,. good stuff ..so far never needed to replace any seals .. all the leaks sealed up fine ... been using it 10 yrs..

The old pulley was a three hour job with a puller, three men, pry bars, and heat and water. As I said the pulley itself was a mess when we got done. The later SC's went to the bolt on pulley.

I have replaced most of the seals but there is one of the rear axle seals that still leaks.

I will give that Lucas Seal some thought.

thanks
