Dug our 770 D 8spd out of the barn from a winters hibornation, and Gregg (Clasic Case) and Mr. Hillbilly (the guy with the real neet Case logo tatoo, showed up with the sibling, Gregg and I made a deal on it back in Febuary.. We had just been waiting or a nice sunny day with dry roads to transport it here. (about a 2 hr. road trip). Who would have thought something like this could happen? sn#s are 8683634 and 8633630. the sibling twins have been reunited. The cab tractor also started life 1n 1971 as an open station, but has worn two different bonnets since then. A 4post ROPS and then the 1070 cab it has on now. They must have been able to see each other on the assy line, when they were brought into this world. One other coincidence we noted , was both have mismatched rears.(GY long bar/short bar on LR, and Armstrong HP Lugs on RR)

PS maybe I can get these guys to post some pics of their Case Pullers.

Loren, what are their tranny and engine numbers? I have my grandads 770D, 8 speed open station here. The SN tag is missing. Maybe we have 3 relations.

It was purchased in new in late 71.

Bro,
I just double checked with the son, his eyes are better than mine. the 4th didgit on both tractors are definately 3s. 71s start at 8674001, 72s,8693001, a total of 19000 70 series, 4-11s tractors produced. Ours would be the 8999th and 9003rd 70 series made in 71, making them mid year production. As per sn# sidebar on this site.

Mark,
We managed to get in 45A of oats and alfalfa seeding in on Friday afternoon before the rains hit. The ground was pretty damp and cold, but the seed is in.

It was great getting the chance to meet and talk with you. Looking at all your tractors and other projects is a thrill for a case fan like myself. I still think the 430 with the smoke grinder would look good hooked to the sled. Justin Durkee aka Mr Hillbilly
Ps I'll work on some pictures of the pullers

Loren,
You definitely have a pair of beauties there. Hard to believe you've got 2 770's. Thanks for the wonderful pics of the twins. They look great together.

congrats, i like those twin tractors .should be on a calendar. the scenery there is unbelievable. i'm ready to move. here people are moving to the country. just great.

Loren,

That is a calendar picture for sure. Nice looking pair of Case tractors. Green grass is good to see also. Don

Both are far from being original. My dad kept the cab tractor when he sold the dealership to me and the wife. It spent 20 years in the woods draging and splitting wood, before his health started slipping and he gave it to my son. The son and I pulled the ROPS off it, and swapped it for the cab. The nose was bad, but we had another one that we rebuilt and put on it, plus many other smaller parts, tie rods 3pt linkage etc., and then paint.

The open station was pulled out of a hedgerow after setting there or about 4 years. It was tow started and deove onto a trailer and Gregg ixed the little things and gave it the paint job.
