ok so here are two original cranks I have from DC/SC tractors, the longer throw with the roller is from a DC the short throw is SC by the way mine have a 12" over all throw for the DC and 8" for the SC

Nutty, went out and measured the crank given to me for a VAC.The throw is 8", and it is 14" long on the reach. Also has a cross pin at the end.

that looks and sounds about rite ,, would a been nice of case to make the crank ends interchangeable,, but that's just me I guess ,,.

I only looked at two of my DC's a 1940 and a 1948 and both of them have the roller end, wonder when they went to the no roller must have been a cost saving change later on

Pretty sure the non-roller cranks started with the live power/eagle hitch models. The roller cranks are nicer till they start getting worn/loose & pinch your fingers.

my 51 DC is a non roller.......

Great post fellows, you answered a lot of questions on the differences on the two styles. I was about 7 the first time I cranked Dads DC .I was warned about not cranking on the compression stroke.OUCH! Do 7year olds listen?

Dad had 2 1950, DC s one new , other one was 2 yrs. old when he got it . Both had "non roller" hand cranks with them from the factory. clint.

I have an original 1950 SC that came without the roller on the hand crank. It had not been painted and the crank matched the tractor.
I will have to look at my DC's.I know the hand clutch eagle hitch DC's and SC's that I have that had hand cranks did not have the rollers.
