I can smell the fresh hay and feel the chaff going down my shirt collar when I look at that picture. They timed taking the picture just right to catch the bale in mid air. Thanks for warming me up because the temp right now is a long ways from what it is in that picture.

I agree. Neat picture..thanks for posting. If you have more keep them coming. I miss the simplicity of that time...there was always a rush to get things done but it didnt seem that way.

I have to agree with you but must say the chaff does not bother me as much as having to unload all the bales into a hot barn and stack them LOL here are a few pics of mine to further warm and remind every one the "HOT" summer days will be here soon cnt

I am sweating here just thinking about haying, when a kid. When the first load was in the loft, Mother would bring us all a fresh, hand squeezed, tall glass of lemonade. This made the trip back to the back side of the place well worth the trip. Thank you for the pictures. CS

Didn't mind the chaff and dirt when you could stay in it the rest of the day. Dad would always save 3 or 4 loads to unload in the cool of the morning. I hated that because you were dirty and itchy the rest of the day, unless it was back to the hayfield.

Really like this pic Tom, you can see the heat in the air, man if things could be that simple. Guess I'm glad I saw those days.
Do you have any info on this pic Tom?

CNT, I really like those hay pics, thanks. great set-up. did you have a lot of broken bales? looks like it would be a mess . was that popular? the farmer i buy hay from, uses a accumulator works great. couldn't find help loading/unloading. john

sorry I should have added this was not my setup I have never used a launcher or wagon out here we bale and drop in the field then come back and pick them up later (a job I really do not like) by hand or with a sweep head or bale wagon cnt

I never minding mowing the hay away. It got me out of the hot sun. Besides, the kids never could stack the hay tight.

I always wondered why people dropped hay in the field. We always had a wagon behind the baler and stacked right off the chute. Different strokes I guess.
