wrong things happen when in a hurry

little thing happen when your in a hurry. I remember dad bought a new 1030, when I was a kid. he got me out of bed at 4:00 one morning. said it wouldn"t start got chain out to pull start. tried starting it one more time turned key, nothing I said push the starter button. it started ! he said a few words! I went back to bed. I"ve had those days to. anyone else have storys like that ?

The 1030 still gets me all the time. Cuz the 700 all the way to the Magnums we have all start with keys. The 400s and 10 are the only ones with the buttons besides our red ones.

Absolutely!!!Dad has had the manifold heater really warm several times!Starts good then though.

We have a pair of SC"s that would periodically refuse to start during the winter months. One time Dad got his "54 SC started, but he couldn"t get the "41 to fire. We put a chain on and he dragged me on the "41 up and down the road with me easing in the clutch and she just wouldn"t catch at all. Finally we pulled up in front of the house and he"s ready to call our mechanic friend when I looked at the sediment bowl and realized he forgot to turn on the gas. He was pretty wild about that one, especially with no one to blame but himself. Only thing better than that was when he put a chainsaw chain on backwards...
