Rough and ragged

Well, I bought the 970 and loader I posted about earlier. Cosmetically it is a total wreck, but all mechanicals work very well. Engine nice and smooth and no smoke or blowby. Powershift works good and drivetrain quiet. Grille missing and hood dented and plenty rust everywhere. Loader with 8 foot bucket looks very good and straight.

Tractor has probably spent its whole life time in a silage trench. No wear on the drawbar.

Oh, and it has a full tank of diesel fuel!!! Will pick it up Saturday.

Gene,

Good Luck on your new Case purchase. I hope to have your old Studebaker on the road this Labor Day for the Case Collectors show here in Edgerton, WI Don

WOW, Case and Studebaker! I don't know if that's good or bad LOL I have the Studebaker sheet metal torn off and getting straightened. I need to get a new wiring harness and a few other little things fixed so no pictures yet, but when it starts looking like a truck again I'll post some. This is going to be a Case dealer's truck with a "Flying Eagle Hitch" decal on the doors. Don

Don;

I was just wondering the other day about the truck. Glad you are making progress on it. Do you have any pictures of it?

The tractor will take some work. Hope I can find the parts. Have a line on the grille. Local tractor yard is checking for some of the parts in case the other line doesn't work out.

Gene,

It has been a long time but we finally started on it, have it running and the brakes working. Sheet metal and paint are next then fashioning some sort of bed for it. I'd like to put an Eagle Hitch VAC on it for parades. Don't have one yet. Don

Where are you at Gene,that tractor had a SW Ohio(937) phone number.Little Farm Supply at Hillsboro(former Case Dealer)had or has a pretty good bone yard.On 138 SW.

I am about 45 miles north of Dayton. Hill T Farms near New Madison has some 70 series Cases and I called them yesterday. Waiting to hear from them.

Gene they have a web site.Littles farm Supply,4141SR 138,Lynchburg.937-288-2318.They were a long time Case dealer and now a short line but still repair-rebuild Case.

Gene, if it runs as good as my brother's 970 I think you will be happy. The 401 is a nice sounding engine.
