I've always enjoyed looking at your equipment pic's, and would love to take that VA off your hands someday, but I have one question. You live in Wyoming, wide open spaces and all, in all the views of your place I can't seem to locate the money tree. Could you show us a pic of it, must be a thing of beauty.

Mike

wow very nice tractors. i really like that smaller 4 wheel drive . the 530 looks great . never seen one in person, how does it compare in overall size to a 930? john

John, never really compared them that close but I would say the 530 is about 2/3 the size of a 930 here is a pic that may help you compare with my 930 6 speed, that row is 430,530,730 and 930

Nice ole 660 combine! We had a 600 when farming and I used to run the neighbors 660 for him at harvest. That was a pretty big machine back then (late '60,s) Nice savings acct! RB

it is far from new but I think it spent it life indoors except at corn harvest, I bought it from the BellFourche SD area and it was ordered in for corn use and has never done small grains, here is a shot of my 69 960 and 1660 they need waxed i had just pressure washed of the field dust for these pics the 960 had set out all of its life except for the last 10 years or so when I finally got sheds to keep them in the 1660 only sat out when it was being used, I also have a 68 960 that has even better paint than the 660 but it is way in the back of the shed, I need to dig it out and run it soon cnt

Sure do have Some NEAT Equipment CNT,,, one of these days i will show you guys my stuff ,,. btw ,, i notice you are missing a battery cover on the 430 ?,, i hang mine in the barn and use the open cavity with a square ice cream bucket as a extra tool box and water jug holder ,,, been doing that for more than 40 yrs ,, wonder if anyone else does that practice ??...

thats a idea for sure I do have a cover for it it's off because the battery is bad and I keep the charger on it LOL need to replace it this year for sure cnt

you probably live on the bigger tractors more than i do ,, around here the 430 is the handiest little tractor ,and its always nice to have extra space fence pliars ,shearbolts , vise grips ,, and a can of ether ,, LOL ,,, with the 25 mph road gear,,i use it as a 4 wheeler too...

I do not farm with my little tractors (except working the trees ect)as it would not be cost effective but they do get used for chore tractors, as you know I go only down to the 770 for field work nd know with me getting the 69 930 back it will do most of that for the 770, the 770 will still run the baler and may still do some of the planting, the 1470 1070 and 930 will be in line for the heavy stuff now

Tom in pic #6 there is a older tracor with a cab sort of in the middle, what would that be? Is the oneway going to be used this year?

Like that 1470, does it have 3pt or pto. Hope to get ours reprinted by the forth of July for our parade

not good right now but we still have hope it will turn around, the weather boys say the odds are it will not and may be frier than last year

Rod that is my "DI" Narrow tractor that was never sold but used in the Racine factory as a Tug/Utility tractor, as to the oneway/discer seeder I am still working on getting it loosed up as the PO did not bother to clean it out the last time he used it, and with the drought I am just planning on using the "ED" press drills to make sure I get a stand if it stays dry after I plant

neither on my 1470's have 3pt or pto wish they did but both of these came from MT and 3pt or pto was a seldom ordered option there, the one in the pic was sold under the Golden Demo program and did have the Demo sticker installed on the cab

Looks good, looks the exact same as mine did, took our cab off last week, do you know how many of them were made as black knights?

sorry I have no seperate numbers for BK tractors, I would guess not very many as there was a limited area that would have ordered a 1470BK I do know they made around 500 Golden Demos as they planned on making one for every dealer at the time, we did not get a GD tractor as we had around five "70' series in stock at the time and they were selling fine with getting the extra GD unit but we did have a 1070 BK and it sold at least 7 more tractors for us and I would guess the BK nubers were close to the same it would interesting to get a count on what are left out there

So the golden demo, what is differant on those, do they have gold decals or gold paint somewhere, can you post close up pictures what's different, never knew case made a golden demo, knew international did but I didn't know case did, hope you can post pictures of them. Thanks

here are Golden Demo's as you can see they only painted the hood, grill and cowls black on them, where as the BK's had all of the Desert Sunset replaced with the Black paint

CNT , thanks for posting the pic of the different tractor sizes. Great collection... that 430 with the loader would be perfect for my needs. i mainly use my 930 to move horse manure. how was the quality of your hay last season? it was very dry here, hay wasn't very good and hard to get.

the hay was so thin and short here I did not cut any of my alfalfa or grass at all I did put up my winter wheat and hay barley for hay am hoping we will get some thing for hay this year, some people here south of me that did get a crop jacked people 250-400 a ton for it

I have two 430's that are both dsl and two 630 dsl's as well, I came across this 530 about 20 years ago and have yet to find any 530 dsl here for sale, I would have preferred a dsl also but it is handy for odd jobs being a gas and any more I may burn one tank a year thru it is all, wheni bought it she was one of two of my main chore tractors

Hi, I have a 1945 LA with a cab that looks like the DI you have. Could you post a closer picture of it ? My family is the second owner the LA, and it runs great. What a monster of a tractor in its day!! ! ! Love your collection !!!! Thanks

We had that probem here and in central TX in 2011, early 2012. I had to run over to Lousiana (south of New Oreleans) several times for a job I was working on and about every 5th truck (not pick-ups pulling round bale trailers, 18 wheeeler loads) I passed going west on I-10 was hay. You know they were getting top dollar+ to haul out of Mississippi and Alabama.

Hope you get more moisture for hay and grain this year.
Jim

Jeff, here are a few pics of it, sorry where it's parked it is hard to get a perfect pic, this cab I was told is the only hadmade Case cab ever built for a "D" series tractor, they made a cab similar to this for L and LA tractors, they are mostly wood in construction, this one has windows that will open and had a canvas top wich shredded when it was hauled to me, it also has a 6 volt windshield wiper and horn, the boys at the factory got creative and made their own heater by piping the exhaust thru the cab and making a shield from a fixed combine sieve the tractor also has a pitel hitch for towing supply carts at the factory, also on this tug is a "hot start" plug that is connected to the battery so they could "jump start" tractors for loading as back then all tractors were shipped with a dry-charged battery then filled with acid at the dealership, it also has a hour meter and a factory Case cast steering wheel spinner, it also had a snow plow on it for clearing snowwish it had still had it when I got it cnt

Tom,
I sure like the looks of that 530. You mentioned hay prices. This morning I saw an ad for alfalfa/grass round bales for $225 each. People are starting to panic as Spring just won"t come and hay is going fast. Don

went to yellowstone 3 yrs ago and stopped in gillette for a break off the interstate and drove around a bit and I am pretty sure we drove by your place

Okay, so they made a 1470 that had only a black hood, grill and cowls, like the one you posted and the gold stripe.thanks for showing a picture.

Very nice looking drill..Ive never seen one like that in the Case versions, only MMs. Ive always been partial to the 30 series and 70 series. We used to have an 830 high profile diesel.

Dan,

I second that "motion". Hope the meeting is not too far off.

Do you think Gillette can hold all the people who will come to a meeting at Tom's place?

Tom,

Thanks for all your photos. It's a pleasure to look at them and enjoy and learn.

Are you near the coal fields that supply to our power stations "back east" here?

Ron

Ron to answer your question yes Gillette can handle a large group no problem, we have things like the National Finals High School Rodeo( brings 5000 or so here at a time) come here every few years as well as motor home conventions, also the Sturgis Bike Ralley is only 100 miles from us and we have a lot of people here for that as well, and yes we ship a lot of coal out of this county as well, not sure right now as sales have slumpped a bit here but we still have the 125 car trains out of here every day hauling coal cnt

Hi Ron,
I bet someday Tom will, and maybe sometime just meet up down there, I know I need too get down there sometime and bring him some drills and need to pickup some things from him

Do you have a picture of one, thanks for letting me know they made one, I never knew that before.heres a picture of the one we plan on restoring before the 4th of July, would like to find a factory quick hitch, the lady we bought it from said she look to see if she had one for it when it warms up. Hope she finds one, she didn't know if it had one when her husband use to use it or not.

Some reason my picture didnt submit, hope it does this time, some reason I'm having troubles.

Don't think it's gonna work again.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I should have some of our Cab LA on later, ( if i hit the right keys HAHAHA). Beauty of a tractor you got there, and great collection ! ! ! !

Your D with a cab, used at the factory looks familiar-did it have anything to do with Wilson? And is the engine free?

Don't know if Bill told you the story-The CNH dealer near here (in central Nebraska) purchased a lot of surplus equipment from Racine. There was your D and two VAIs that showed up here. The dealer thought I should own them! One Tug ran, the other was stuck and this D that was also stuck. I didn't need two stuck tractors. I still own the Tug that ran-sold the other one to Dutchman and he is restoring it. Wilson called me and asked if I would go put some ATF in the cylinders of the D. I did and it sat @ the dealers for some time. It finally disappeared and Wilson called to say the engine was free!!

Here it is finally got it to post the picture, not sure if we"re painting it original, or black, hope picture isn't up side down, isn't on my screen but seems it is to others, don't know why, I take the picture on my iPad and post them on my iPad.

Thank you for the complete story on my DI Narrow tug,, Bill had told me some about for sure but that was some years ago would be neat to get all of them back together some day if possible cnt

Nice looking cab and LA looks to be mostly metal where mine has a lot of wood,,, factory budget was small they used what they had cnt

G1355 that's a nice 1470 looks good w/o the cab. i would like to own one someday. imo paint it original.

Yup almost all metal and the cab is lined with wood or cork, can"t tell, plus it has a small heater radiator for cold weather. Great insulation as it keeps cool even on hot days. Only seen pictures of 2 other Case with cab, well plus your"s, 1 was an L and the other was a LA owned by a small city north of Milwaukee, Wi and sold on Internet about 5-6 years ago. Ha I missed the sale by only 2 years, wasn"t looking then. The door has a open area where the PTO can pivot without hitting anything, it also has a roll down glass window in it. It"s my favorite of the "Herd". Your Cases are awesome too ! ! !
