The last of the 885 series was 11021851, completed in 1983. I suspect that one is a late 82 to 83 somewhere, but don't have a reliable source with exact dates, just start and stop of the series. There is a guy over on the forum that can give you exact day and shift of manufacture.

Rich, are they like the 995 with the rear hyd pumps and have the spur gear driving things? I had a 995 in that the spur gear would work loose and come off, was a easy fix om it just pulled the pto off cleaned things up good and lock-tited the retainer still working fine after 15 years as far as I know cnt

If you pull the top link sensing unit off, you might be able to see what is happening(six 1/2" bolts).

If you can't see what is happening through that hole, pulling the PTO unit off would be your next course of action(large circle of bolts that bolt to the differential housing).
