Ok we gat sr# 885/VA/1/11021249. would that make it a 1980 model? What is the best Manual for this tractor. Thanks

The last of the 885 series was 11021851, completed in 1983. I suspect that one is a late 82 to 83 somewhere, but don't have a reliable source with exact dates, just start and stop of the series. There is a guy over on the dbtc.co.uk forum that can give you exact day and shift of manufacture. |

| Rich, are they like the 995 with the rear hyd pumps and have the spur gear driving things? I had a 995 in that the spur gear would work loose and come off, was a easy fix om it just pulled the pto off cleaned things up good and lock-tited the retainer still working fine after 15 years as far as I know cnt |

Identical.
If you pull the top link sensing unit off, you might be able to see what is happening(six 1/2" bolts).
If you can't see what is happening through that hole, pulling the PTO unit off would be your next course of action(large circle of bolts that bolt to the differential housing). |
