I just got a letter telling me that my Friend Erwin Havenstein passed away in Germany. He was 87, fought in the German Army, afer the war worked for Robert Bosch, and was a terr. Rep. for JI Case and John Deere. The man knew EVERYTHING about injection pumps. He retired, opened a shop in Dubuque Ia. When his wife passed away he moved back to live with his brother in Hamburg. A great friend and source of information gone. May he Rest in Peace.

My condolences, Pard. May he rest in peace.
Seems like the circle of life goes on.
The post two below yours is of a new baby brought into the world...slim

The good old guys who just knew their stuff without didgital reader etc. are now few and far between. Sorry to hear about another one passing.
Loren, the Acg.

He was at the John Deere Plant when they were testng the 1st 4 clylinder diesel and work with the engineer who designed it. He very seldom talked about the war. He was conscripted at the age of 16. When the war was over he surrendered to the US Army wearing a Truck drivers uniform, the next day he was driving for the US Army. He had never driven anything before that! He and about 15 other former German soliders, they were put in there own barracks for the night and were so convinced that they would be shot(revenge) they set out there own sentry.
