Went out to start my 400 diesel and it was dead. Started great last fall and most times I disconnect battery. Cable was to tight so what the heck. This is what I found.

Looks like it was right in the solenoid. Maybe corroded enough it shorted out?
I like seeing that circuit breaker on there. I helped a neighbor rebuild a MF65 after it burned up. After that I installed protection (fuse or breaker) right there at the power source on all my old tractors.
 
Electrical is hard to tell. May not of been a heavy duty enough solenoid, wore out and shorted out like Bob said. Just glad it just did what it did. Could have taken the whole row of tractors.
