So I posted that picture of the 1470tk me and my brother bought, it has 28.1-26 tires and wondered if you can plow with a 3 point plow, a 720 international is what we have dont know if the tire would fit in the furrow or not. or if you need a on land plow, hope it works with the three point, otherwise were gonna have to find a on land plow. Thanks |

We pulled a 710 IH 6-16 plow for years with a 2470 with 23.1 x30 rice tires running in the furrow.

I would not do it unless you have onland hitch. What you will do is wreck the inner sidewall of your tire, and they don't give them away for sure. Plus it's very hard on steering cylinders, and pivots.

We used 23.1X30 on our 2470 for years pulling a 6-18 plow. The tires were really too wide but we got along fine.Your setup will be the same, not perfect but work just fine.

It will be tight in the furrow, but a 5-20's should work for on land too. It's 4" wider than 6-16's and they pull them onland a lot.

There is probly enough adjustment to make it onland. Post a pic. We even used our 5-16's onland if we had to do any spring plowing. It pulled a bit to the side but worked, and we could run with both duals on.

I saw that after. lol Those will adjust far enough over to plow on land. You will have to drive right next to the furrow but it will work. With 20's it should work pretty good, as I said it's wider than a 6-16's and they do those onland a lot.

If you move the hitch over on that plow so it can be pulled on land it won't pull straight. That plow wasn't made to be pulled onland. Just try it in furrow, you aren't out anything. It either works or it doesn't.

The plow we have is 5-20s if that helps, if you know if the tire fits in the furrow that will be great

The tire will leave markes on the previous pass. If you sock the plow in 10-12" you may be able to cover the track. Not really a good setup for infurrow plowing. An onland 3pt, 6 plus bottom would be much better suited. Loren

I didn't say it wouldn't work. Your tires are plenty fat for a furrow. You have ample power to burry the plow and throw a lot of dirt to cover the tire imprint in the plowed ground. Hook her up and go plow, and see what happens. If you like the results thums up! If you don't move on to an on land plow. Loren
