That was a interesting read. I got a good laugh out of guy saying 103hp on a 1690. Ive never gotten more than about 83 at best out of one. I have had several 1494s go 85hp with ease. thanks Thad

You have to remember they measure their ponies at the flywheel in the UK. I agree, with the turbo 4/55s, my 1494 has real heart, no dyno here to check it on paper though. I have a spare Bosch 4 cylinder P pump here, might make her even more interesting.

I turned up the cav on a 1494 all the way up and then dynoed it. It ran 110 with next to no smoke. I was just curious what they would put out in case one of those engines fell into a early 990 around here for a puller. Thad

I had a 1410 in the early 80's that we turned the fuel up and added water injection. It ran very strong in the 7000lb farm stock. We ran 8th gear at about 4000 rpm. Pulled it two seasons and the only touble we had was the valve seats once.
