for Case eyes only

I have to go with my Kubota B2150 also. I use it about every day
Tim, did you get the problem you had with yours figured out. I never heard.
Loren

Minneapolis Moline, my uncle farmed with them when I was growing up. 2 M670's both propane because he was allergic to gas and diesel fuel.

I would also have to say 185 Allis Chalmers.
Dad bought it new in 1973 he gave it to me last year, it needed quite a bit of work so far I have put around $1500.00 into it and it"s well worth that and the memories of growing up on this and my Case 1030.
My Dad died Jan 29th this year and I am so glad to have his tractor and the disc he bought new.

Dad had a A& a B John Deere and at 9 years old ,I thought it was awsome to light either one of them off after the second pull .

We have CASE 430d, 510 (two)g, 630d and a 1030d. Use all of them on the farm. One of the 510s has a mounted arm mower to keep the berry vines pushed back along the fences. My #2 would be IH particularly IH Farmall.

We have only had case since about 1960 having a little experience on IH SMD and oliver 88. Dad had a couple of A JD in early years. My 2nd best would be Moline as I pulled a 705 on alcohol on the NTPA circurt for several years. that 504?? really sounded good at about 6000 rpm.

If DBs are considered Case, I would go for most anything with a Perkins in it for a second choice.

A big 6 cylinder binder with a straight pipe is music to the ears too.

I know this is heresy but I really would like to have big ole JD R (we had one as A kid. I plowed withthe R and Dad with the 830, Case that is. I really like the big iron from that period; LA R, WD9. If I had room and unlimited funds one of each would be good, then a Case 500.

I like old tractors.

I have been an classic car collector and restorer most of my adult life and as I get older, I find that working on tractors is more fun for me and less expensive.

I now have my Case 830, and my Oliver 70. Before I sold it, I had a IH Farmall 460, but it was in need of a lot of work and $$$.

Now having said that, I gotta admit that I've never been a REAL farmer that needed the dependablity of a tractor to "bring home the bacon". My love of tractors stems more from me pulling a disc, a rotory mower, or a harrow around my 10 acres, wearing a hat and waving at the cars going by on the highway! I also built a haywagon that my grandson and his "cityfied" buddies love to ride in.
It would be presumptious of me to pick which tractor is better than another with my limited knowledge and needs...Lol! slim

An old bachelor farmer up the road had a MM Z as his only tractor. He had very good luck with it. I always thought MM or Massey Harris were 2nd best brands behind Case. Case people probably feel exactly the same way as MM or MH people did when their favorite brand merged wth other companies. Don

Bigger Fords (8600 on up), Some IH and some MM and I do have a 4020 due to sentimental attachment but its not my favorite to work on by any means, ok chore tractor though

Thats a hard choice. Spent many hours on a D17 helping out, even run a JD B and a JD 730 diesel raking. Kinda liked the sound of the 2 cylinders running with a load. Guess it would have to be a Deere 2 cylinder, but only if I couldnt have my Case. Scott

The only tractors from another brand we use around here are a Farmall 200 and a Super A. My Grandfather traded his Case VC that he bought new in 41. The 200 never lived up to his expectations,(It just didn't quite pull like the VC) but I find it to be a nice handy tractor with the fast hitch and touch controls. In recent years after we got a Case 350 I asked Grandpa if he looked at a Case 300 back when he traded. He said the 300 was a heavier more of a utility style tractor than the rowcrop cultivating tractor he was looking for. We would have discovered much sooner how nice the triple range transmission is if a 312 would have showed up back then. Since the 350, 300 and now my 630 arrived here I don't see the 200 getting a whole lot of hrs on the hay rake or tedder. If for some reason we had to do some cultivating I am sure the 200 would be the first to get pressed into action. The A takes care of that job in the gardens around here. -Joel

According to external_link the Farmall 200: $1970, Case 300: $2500

oh I guess i'd have ta go with ford

"n" series since thems was where I started my "tractor training". I could stand-up and just "step-down" to stop it!!! plus Dad could hurdle over the 3-point just in time to help turn the steering wheel before I went over the cider-fence-post and fence at the end of the field!!Hee hee sorry for ramble'en. Can still feel Dad's arm comming over my shoulder just in time.....Thanks DAD.

Ok most don't know this brand but I did a lot of work on an MRS that ol girl did a lot of work. Here's a picture of one like it we had a canopy on ours and a home made brush guard.

Loren, I put a new fuel pump on it and it straightened it out for the most part, but there are times it doesn"t seem to run right. I"ve been putting off the job of pulling the fuel tank off and giving it a good cleaning, even though it doesn"t seem to have much debris in the filter/sediment bowl. Could be cheap fuel, too. At least now, when it feels "weak", it doesn"t make that predetonation sound.

I would agree a 185 allis. First tractor I ever drove. Great power steering and loved the live pto, 2 speed hand clutch (Torque Converter?) and ease of use. Still, the 930 was my favorite until my Dad brought home the big 2470!

Ill get thrown to the wolves for this. John Deere is my second choice. we have a 1070, 1270, and a 2590. Was never a Deere fan until i took over the farm 10 yrs. ago and needed to get parts for the Case tractors. the dealers either couldn't or didn't want to get parts or work on them. First tractor i bought was a 2470 and i sold it a few years after because it was a dog and when we went to overhaul it the block was no good, looking back i wish i would have kept it and put a cummins in it. I've bought Deere ever since the dealership is great to work with, they have parts(on hand even), and the mechanics are helpful if i get stuck. The Cases are mostly retired here. This is my Deere lineup- 4230, 4440, 4255, 4960 and im working on buying a 3020.

This is basically what happened to my family. Always had case, up to a 1370. Then my uncle got hosed on a brand new Fiat that was a total piece of junk. They were scrambling for a tractor, and found a nice 4240 near by. After that, it has been all deere. The local case dealership closed, but the deere stayed open. We now have a 4040, 4240, 4640, and an 8650. I am just now getting some cases back with a DC4 and a big 400.

I have a close friend that has a MM U I think, he is looseing his health and trying to move some of his collection. I would like to get the two of you together.
