have had starters leak but my starter guy has always stopped the problem, I know he uses a certain seal on the convertor/powershift starters, are they rebuilding the starter completely or just replacing the seals? may be bad bushings ect taking the seals back out, just some thoughts, also the powershift flywheel slings oil and there should be no pressure build up as you say the vent is fine, maybe some one else has further thoughts

The first guy went thru it at his shop, think he just took it apart and put in new seals, may not have been Case supplied parts, but he is a good Case mechanic. I also think he said he took it to a rebuild shop in Greeley once. Two or three times for him. Had another Case dealer mechanic take it to their shop a couple of times, replaced seals first time and second time I think he said he replaced the bushings. I asked him if the seals could be put in backward, don't remember what he said. I would think he would know what kind of seals it took, unless he just took it to the rebuild shop in Greeley too. It just doesn't seem possible that the flywheel could sling enough oil to make it go thru the seals and fill the starter housing. Thanks.

Had that trouble on the son's 1070. Had to replace the boot on the solenoid. The shaft seal was good but the boot was leaking. Tried about three times before the got the right one ordered.
