i have had trouble with the gas tank on my tractor. the shop had a radiator shop boil it out. the fuel line stops up i use air to blow back threw it . i can hear it in tank. fuel will run for a while to a few days. is there any thing i can do/use to repair it? i thought about using a plastic can with my electric fuel pump? thanks in advance john

I presume the outlet from the tank to carb is plugging up, try putting a stinger pipe in the sediment bowl about an 1 inch or 2 long up into the tank that way you dont pull fuel directly off bottom of tank where the rust settles to.

i haven't seen a s. bowl under the tank. would you boil it out again ? and have it coated? i will try hose/pipe up a couple inches, that would be a cheap fix. thanks

Drain fuel, look inside with a good flashlight and see what the problem is. If it"s rust and crude, take the tank off and clean out the inside. Alcohol and acetone will remove gunk, clean gravel will knock off all the loose rust.

I know its not the same, but years ago, we had an Allis 210, that had corn silk floating around in the fuel tank. Every time it got cold, the corn silk would go to the bottom of the tank, and you had to walk home. The riser in the bottom of the tank never made any difference. Finally pulled the tank, and went fishing. After that it ran great.

My tank got so bad on my 930 I had to clean it using electrolysis.

It took about a week because the battery charger that I have is only 10amps but it worked.

Do a web search for cleaning tanks using electrolysis and you should find all the info you need.

You can coat it after it is clean or just keep it full of fuel.

PS. I also added a screen filter to mine that’s up into the tank, the kind that is used on some models of sediment bowels.

I had that same trouble with my dc. It ended up
being a plastic cap from a 2 1/2 gal jug had gotten
dropped in and every once in a while it would get
over the pipe and stop the tractor. After I found
that and got it out I put a new sediment bowl with
the screen on and n o problems since.

Earlj nailed it with a simple fixed. I took a clear hose about 1/2 dia. siphoned the bottom of my tank you would might be surpised at the crud it will "vacum" up
