The post below got me to chuckle a bit. I'm only 35 and live a 1 acre/acreage but have 7 smaller tractors here, 870 w/loader, Dc with Trip loader, 41 sc, 44 s, 43 SC, 43 SI military,52 sc. I also farm with my Dad and brother and have larger tractors at the farmsteads.

I just wonder how many other CASE guys "sneak" an extra tractor or project home. I know I've only discussed about half with my wife before I brought my tractors home. It just seems easier to ask forgiveness, than get permission.

I also commonly find myself teller her it is cheaper than a drug or alcohol addiction. I assume a lot of the members on here have found themselves in the same boat.

When ever Dad and I go to an auction and by something, we always tell Mom that we bought something that is 2 to 3 times more expensive then what we bought. Then when we show her what we really bought and what it cost, she doesn't think its that bad

You guys really need to get em trained. I'm going to a gun show this weekend. Leaving today and spending the night in Pine City MN with my son and then the show in the morning. Wife hands me an extra wad a cash about an hour ago "in case I find something interesting". I told her that I already have more than enough cash in my pocket and she should keep it. She insisted I take it! Guess I'll have to keep her!

I went to a sale the middle of February one year and drug a high platform D home. My Wife claimed it as her Valentines present. Many of you know her. She makes most of the shows with me. I do feel blessed!

I always have customer tractors sitting around. My wife will ocasionaly ask, who's tractor is that? when she notices its been here for a long time. Once in the while I have to say well thats Ours. I have learned not to say mine, Rod.

I have an 800 and an SC mine doesn't know about I think I'll just wait and see if she notices.Until I get them running she won't know, they are rescues from the iron man.I agree there are much worse habits, but I don't. Know if they are less addicting

It has been almost a year and I have yet to share my 400 aquisition with my better half ,and she is my better half.I am of the opinion that it is better to ask for forgiveness, even it will require scar tissue to grow over.I am of the belief that they already know, and they will use this knowledge for another day. After 33 years they know. And that is my 3cents worth. ouch ! chuck

Way back in 1970 I bought a 1942 IH W6 for 40 pounds but the next day I swoped it for a JD H with a friend of mine. A few years later my friend died and the tractor passed to his son. Five years ago the son who had a large Fordson collection also died. In his will everything had to go to the Cheffins auction to be sold so I had to pay 1900 pounds to get it back. The following Tuesday the exhacst pipe broke on the wifes car when she was in town so she took it to our friend Pauls garage to be fixed. Paul is also a tractor collector and was at the sale when I bought the W6 and wile he was fixing the wifes car he remarked to her what a good tractor I had bought the previous Saterday. That took some explaining. MJ
