What type of rims fit the rear of a DC Case ? The tractor is going to be used as a farm stock puller and the owner would like to put some 15.5-38 tires on the back. Also how do you turn the rpms up. The local club allows 3000 rpm's. Not that it is ever going to see that but it would be nice to get some extra power. |

H/M IH or A/B?G jd rims will fit, either have your rims widened to 14 or 15 inches or buy new 14' drop center rims, if you are going to use the cast centers, you can also weld lugs to a 14" double bevel and bolt them on the castings or use 9 bolt pressed wheels, increasing the governor spring tension will get you about 1450rpm's for more a light spring on the throttle shaft or a piece of wire around the gov. spring will do the job, I would not want to take a stock dc over 1800 or so unless I knew the condition of the engine and flywheel, remember-there's no replacement for displacement

For 15.5-38's your going to need a double drop base rim. I would get a W14x38 rim. You want more power out of it do not touch the governor. Put 4 1/16" pistons in it with a propane head.

Ivs seen a D crank and it does not look strong enough or balanced enough to handle 3000 rpm. Higher compression in that engine is going to give you the most hp gain for the least amount of money.

The DC developer its max torque at lower rpm . It just might be weaker at above 2000. My CC puller does best at 1500 or lower. Just no sub for cubic inch and long stroke. Along the idea of size does matter!!!!

I don't know the proper terminology for the rim design but I've heard them called several different things, double bevel, triple bevel, double offset, etc. Farmall M's used the same rim so all you have to tell a tire or salvage place is Farmall M rims and they'll know. To turn up the RPM's there are two adjusting nuts on the throttle linkage right behind the oil filter cannister. Just shorten the linkage to increase the R's. Or the fast and dirty way is to wire the governor spring tight like we used to do to blow silage with a DC. Don
