I am restoring my grandpas 1961 case 730 dual range.I have run into a dead end on the guage cluster! Was told mine has autolite guages in it.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I bought some Case gauges a couple years ago from Rusty Acres the guys name is Don Livingston in Austin MN 1-507-433-0073. He maybe able to help you out. Nice guy to deal with. Bandit

The Autolite gauges have square RPM and MPH big gauges while the Stewart Warner gauge cluster has curved ones (best I can explain it). The CaseIH parts site has good graphics of each for your comparison.
While I think Don supplies high quality used parts (I have purchased from him) you will get gauges from a salvage tractor and they may or may not have all the gauges in the cluster working unless they came from a running model where Don could check them before removal of the cluster.

If you just need a functional cluster Don is your man.

I got a restored Autolite cluster from Roger Hornbacker and it looks new. The deal with Roger is you send him your old cluster and he either restores it or sends you one from his restored inventory. Don't know what you are willing to pay but as a wild guess I am betting a used cluster will be about half the price of a restored cluster. My 630 restored cluster about 4-5 years ago was about $300 but it looks and functions like a new one, Roger does excellent work.

Either choice, depending on your needs, I don't think you can go wrong.

You'll have to search. I didn't need mine and sold them a few years ago, I think i got about $300 for the whole thing on ebay and the speedo didn't work but was all there. They were also in excellent shape though, the faces did not need restoration. the stewart warner are easier to find units but it wouldn't be a true restoration. They also are not cheap either. Got $150 for a semi-working one from an 800 a couple years ago too (again with nice face plate) If restoring Rodger is your best bet.

Dave, mine was an Autolite cluster but Roger did say parts were getting hard to find for them, more SW ones made I guess and like I said, this was 4-5 years ago. If Roger said he would send it back you will get it back, count on it.
