Oh kids from down the road, dumber then a box of rocks!!! We had a artrisn well (cold deep well) if you let it run oh about 5 minutes it would make your teeth hurt in your mouth. Well we where stacking hay up in the roof it was 100 plus up there. Back to the well, the kid was soaked like the rest of us. Pushed me and my brother outa the way to geta drink............well the little dummie took the hose and put over his head well when that cold hit him.........he went down like a ton of sh*t. when he came too. He asked dad when we get payed dad said end of the week. Kid said he be back friday for his check. Dad said don"t bother give him $4.00 (in 1963)there"s more to the story. Best part was seeing him layed out in cowsh*t |

| | I love dumber than a box of rocks. Around our parts it was dumber than a sack of hammers or dumber than a door knob. Which brings me to ask, what were the coloquial expressions for dumber than ... in other parts of the country? This could get humorous. (<: Jim |

| Jim, Dumber than a box of rocks is pretty standard here also. (only runnin on 3 cylinders) a complement to a JD guy hehe, (The elevator don't reach the top floor) ( few cans shy of a sixpack), (A little light in the loafers), (Head screwed on backwards), (The light is on, but knowone is home) Many more, But!!
