LIGHT SWITCH WIRING

I bought a new switch for the generator charging rate / lights on my VAC, 6v pos ground with cutout. It didn't have a switch before, so I can't simply replace as before. My question is which wires go where on the switch? There should be one to the lights, one from the gen, and one to the ammeter (I think). The picture has the terminals labeled, so would somebody be able to tell me what goes where?

Thanks, Jerry

#2 is your power in, #1 goes to your regulator and #3 goes to your lights. I have several of these switches around, I convert all mine to regular 6V systems and run the power for the lights off the "L" terminal on the regulator.

Never scene one of theses switches, So only "guessing" because not being able to look at the switch fully? Looks like it is a pull switch? Termal #2 looks to be bigger than the others, So it usaully is where power comes in, Maybe generator wire goes there? Termal #3 looks like it is fused and would be wire to your lights?Witch you need a fush for the lights. Termal #1 maybe goes to your amp meter? You didn't say how many wires and what sizes they are? Good luck, maybe some one knows for sure? If not thats how I would start?

Dusty coal, that light switch has a fuse for the lights. Under that white cylinder is a rheostat? that adjusts the charge rate.
