Is a 870 970 the same

I just got a 870 service manuel from a guy and it has everthing in it to service everthing on the tractor and I have a 970 do they have the same power shift and hydrolic system? Thanks Jesse

Hydraulics should be the same. Drive train is very simular with the 970 having more clutch plates. Some of the service procedures might be a little different since the platform on the 870 is lower with less clearance to the transmission. You should be able to muddle through things with the 870 manual.
