Im working on a 1963 830 Case-o-matic diesel. Found out I have a broken ring and a inside bad sleave. Sent the short block to the a local shop to get new sleaves. They found a crack between the 3 and 4 holes in the block. I found a 730 block of the same year to put in that checks out good. Does anybody know if I can put my 830 heads on a 730 block? Looks like everything else will fit up fine. Thank you and have a great day.

No dont use them on the smaller engine. They will lower your compression to much. The combustion chamber size is diffrent between the two engines. Thad

Exactly where are these cracks? If they are on top, on the horozontal surface, I wouldn't worry. The head gasket seals that area.

as John said, on top it won't bother, my 830 was the same way when I built it , that was several years ago and it is a work tractor, more importantly make sure that the sleeve protusion is within specs, if not have the counterbores cut and shim the sleeves up to the proper height

Also on the diesels the head mechanically seals to the ring on top of the sleeve. Use your 830 block.
