Adirondack case guy

Sorry guys, I didn't use the 300, because I was in a lot of brush and undergrowth, and needed the bucket on the Kubota.
Yesterday I welded up this 3pt hitch skidding arch. It worked really good and allowed me to drag out some big logs with the little guy. The chain with the choker ring threads over the top of the arch and back down to the center drawbar, so when I raise the hitch the choker ring retracts into the top allowing me to raise the but of the log up or allow me to move forward about 16" if I spin in.

Is this the syrup mill? Looks like you are gettings lots of wood ready to boil the sap down if so.

Loren,

I'm surprised you don't have a Case skidder. I've only seen them in pictures, nobody I know has ever seen a real one. Don

Sorry, using "cane" syrup terminology from the deep South where we put sorghum molasses made in a syrup mill on our biscuits. (<:

Anyway, I like the pictures. Wouldn't mind helping you in the "sugar bush and sap house" sometime before I'm too d--n old to lift full buckets of sap. In NY you do call "them metal thangs" you hang on the trees buckets right ? (<: HeHe

Good talking to you last night, sorry I had to hurry. We will resume this at another time, always good to hear from Case guys on the other side of our country. I like the winter pictures a lot you northern and western Case guys post since we see so little snow here in the Houston area. I am only 45 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico and the old gulf keeps us pretty warm.

Don,
We never sold any skidders, but there are some around here. A Case dealer just north of us got real excited about them and sold about a doz. using Case Credit paper. There is a lot of trees in the Adirondacks to hide skidders behind and loggers don't have the best of reputations. I'm sure that you know the "rest of the story" as to the fate of this dealer. There is an 800 still running in the area. The tranny and axles were generic along with the Carco winches. The BD336T engine is still servisable.
