I plan on using 970 heads. My VERY early 970 sn number 8650012 had larger wrist pins. I pulled the original rod bearings out dated OCT 69. Just need to find an intake for the 870 diesel. gas cams have a shorter duration from what I have read. Intake is open longer on diesels to max out air into combustion chamber.

0012, That is very early... The 870 gas I knocked in the head for parts was in the 100's and I thought it was early.
Count your head bolts. It sticks in my head that the gas had one less bolt.
