Soaking them does not make sense. Some mechanics do use a coating, I never do. Make sure all threads are clean & oiled. However, the most important step you need to do to insure against a blown head gasket, is to re-torque. Re-torque this way. After installation & warm up, while still warm, starting with #1 nut in the pattern, back off nut 1/4 turn, & bring back up to torque. then move on to the next till they are all done. |

| Don't put oil in the thread hole, just lightly on head bolts. You can "hydraulic" them and get false torques or ruin the block. Just a bit of advise. Loren |
