Rose Parade RFD TV Tractors and Float

Thanks for posting I was watching it on NBC when they came thru and I couldn't see the last couple of tractors, thought there was another Case other than the 800 I could see. This is a great video clip. I probably backed it up and reran it on my DVR at leaast 10 times on New Years day.

BTW since when is a Kubota a classic tractor? I don't remember seing them until the early 80s. Maybe I am being too nationalsitic and picky.

I recorded parade on rfdtv and yes I was disappointed with the Kabota and announcers kept talking and raving about kabota man.
He had to have been a friend of managment it certainly was not a classic.

Tom,
I think they did streach the limit a bit, but, Kubota was a major sponser for the presentation of the Parade by RFD-TV, Kubota is celibrating 40yrs of sales in the US so I think it was OK. They made their presence in 1972 in the US and and are a major player today.

WAY COOl! All they needed was an old steamer to tear up the asphalt! (Just joking) but if there was some way to do it a steamer would have been perfect

Great video, channel I caught it on you didn't get a very good look before they were gone. Thanks for posting, hope CARB wasn't trying to check the exhaust output to see if they meet the rules, sorry had to throw that in lol. Scott

Awesome! I bet it was a great time. I was hopeing someone had pics or a You Tube link. Agree with the Kubota comments........I have real tractors....mine weren't built with chop sticks!

were i live there are a few towns that have alot of steam engine tractors and they cut up old tractor tires and bolt them to the wheels and they can drive them on the ashalt so lets start the petition and get some steamers in there next year.

Since its in California the enviromentalists may stop you for burning wood or fossil fuel (coal) and CA safety folks could have a problem with pressurized steam vehicles on crowded public roadways. CA is pretty picky and full of rabid tree huggers just waiting for a chance to pounce. Hate to be negative but I am betting you would have to pull the unfired steamer with one of the classics to get aproval.

Probably have better chance getting them in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in NYC as I think I have seen a steam caliope in it.

Hope I am wrong!!
