430 with loader

What is a reasonable expectation of lifting capacity for an early SN 430 with a Freeman 2000 loader ported directly into the main pump for hyd supply?

If you could get a pressure reading on the pump, we could better tell you. That pump is 50 years old, and could be quite wore.

I plan to very soon. I was just wondering what it is supposed to be able to do. I would like to lift large squares onto feed wagons to feed horses.

if you are talking the 600-800 lb bales it should do that fine if things are in good working order, if they are 1200-1500 lb ones I would be thinking that is too much for a 430/530 front end if this is a AG tractors and industrial unit it might work,, the 2000 lb ones in my opinion no way,,, my two cents

If that is the 430 that I think it is that is an ag tractor with no 3 point or PTO .I think It has a standard axle might be pushin it .

I agree with Tim.

If it's a general purpose you might want to have a supply of spindles on hand, particularly on rough frozen ground. In other words, even if you can lift the bales, you may not want to do so.

If, on the other hand, it has a solid utility axle, and your hydraulic pump is in good shape, and you have some additional weight on the rearend....you may be fine

O.k. soI installed a gauge according to my manual, warmed things up, ran up to speed and raised the Eagle hitch up to max height to "dead head" the system to get a reading.
Forgive the dirt. I took photos of both sides of the valve body, and such.
As I read in the manual, it looks like it's time to dig the pump out to have a look. I replaced the filter, and fluid.
