| Assuming the springs aren’t broken, they should be alright. It sounds like it needs a creep adjustment on the left side. This would be best done with the machine up on blocks so the tires are just off the ground. I can’t quite figure out the configuration of the centering springs for your model from CNH’s parts page, or how exactly the adjustment is made. Somehow there should be a bolt or threaded rod running through the centering spring, with a nut (or the bolt head) tightened up on both sides of the spring- not tight enough to start to compress the spring, just enough to not allow any free lateral movement of the rod within the spring. This is where your adjustment is made- the exact lateral position of the rod when the spring has it centered (hands off the handles) determines the position of the swash plate in the pump. You make the adjustment a little at a time until you achieve no-flow (wheels not turning). Here is where I’m confused- looking at the parts page for the left side, it looks like a bolt running through the spring, instead of a threaded rod like most machines. I don’t see how you can make the adjustment there, so my only guess is you do it by threading the bolt in and out of the ball joint on the bracket on the end of the shaft from the pump. Hope this is what you’re looking for. |
