decal sizes?

Looking at ALL the talents on this forum. I would like to try afew things on my own. What i'am asking is the size in inches wide and long? and where could I buy them and see them.
Rod: thats really something how old where yeah?
Loren: Are you a manchinest? cause thats pretty detailed stuff.
Tom: I am just amazed by the stuff you got!! My favorite is the "wyoming wildfire putter outter" little did the guys that designed that machine it would help save others from more damage. Ok ok enough rambling sorry about that. It's my 11 cents worth.God Bless

Gregg,
Not quite sure what you are planning, but I have gone to the same sign maker for the last 35 years for grafics for our dealer trucks to my home built toys. Computers and CAD systems are great, and a good tech can make anything you want for grafics.
In answer to your question about me being a machinest, if you consider a hacksaw, file, grinder a drillpress and tap and die set, and exacto knife, the tools of trade, yes I'm a machinest. HeHe

Stiener Tractor has a catalog with a set for my 830. I just haven't been able to justify the price yet--(over $300).
Maybe Santa will bring me a set! (yeah, right!)...slim

Hi Greg, I not sure what your asking for in decal info. When the wooden 1470 got built I was 15. Rod.

Sorry for the lack of info I'am think'en birdhouses, feeders, mailboxes and other "yard ordermints" trust me guys "NO WAY IN HE** will there be as much detail. Just putt'en a little CASE twist to them (colors&decals). Making decals to fit my "yard-art". Loren, here I thought you had 4yrs of "smarty-pants" school whata disppoint!!! hee hee,so much for being a high-tech guy for you!! Rod, I finshed high-school in 69 so you just a wee-bit younger then me. Oh man rambling again. God Bless

Too bad you didn't trace the decals before you stripped them off. When I redo a Case tractor I mask and paint the black portion, of the decal and then go to my sign maker and have the letters cut from vinyl. Would cost about $60-75 bucks. Both the 430s in the pic have the black painted on and lettering applied over, or painted over and stripped out. The "strip outs are a bit harder to deal with.

I think maple hunter has the best reputation for decals. For myself I bought a set from Steiner but purchased the wrong set for my tractor. After receiving the decals I didn't like they way they were made. They are just a sheet of clear plastic with the letters on the back side. I have a hunch the clear area will get cloudy and look bad so I stenciled the lettering on my tractor. I just printed the lettering on my computer with common copy paper and cut the letters out with an exacto knife. Then I applied the stencil to the tractor with spray adhesive to paint.

Anyway the decal I got said tripl range on it and measured 2 3/4"x 13 1/2" with the letter part 1 3/4"x 12 15/16". The decal with the number is 2"x 4 1/4" with the number size 1 1/2" x 3 5/8".
